What steps are you taking to mitigate risks related to the Coronavirus Pandemic?
We are working hard to balance the social, emotional and physical benefits of participation in our club with increased safety procedures to protect the athletes, coaches and their families during this pandemic. We have combined recommendations from the CDC, USATF, and local government with some common sense measures to help accomplish this, yet still provide an enjoyable and valuable experience for your child. Current procedures can be downloaded here.
My child has a conflict on one of the practice days per week. Can he or she still participate in the program? While attending all the practices is ideal, a child could still benefit and enjoy the program one day a week. In order to be ready for meets and to get the most out of the program, I'll send home suggested workouts. We'll also have some optional weekend practices.
What events are contested?
Open running events: 50, 100, hurdles, 200, 400, 800, 1600 meters and 3200 meters
Relay events: 4x100 and 4x400
Field events: shot put, discus, softball throw, mini-javelin, standing long jump, running long jump and high jump
Do you have a sibling discount? We offer a $10 reduction in registration fee per youth for siblings.
Can my child compete during the summer season? Absolutely! While the spring season will be over, I'll work with youth who are interested in competing at the regional and national level. Parents will be expected to cover additional costs associated with the extended season.
Do you offer scholarships? We will offer limited scholarships for the 2021 track season. Athletes will also be given fundraising opportunites to offset the cost of registration. Parents/guardians of scholarship athletes will be required to volunteer at at least one track meet. Please contact Rachel for details.
