Sirius Athletics competes in the USATF Track & Field Series, which is open to youth ages *7-18 (any child who turns 7 during the 2018 calendar year is eligible, athletes who are still 18 for the National Championships are also eligible). Our practice schedule is somewhat flexible based on parents and coaches availability, typically meeting 3x/week - one morning session and two late afternoon sessions. We will meet at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 11th for our first practice, orientation and to get a schedule together for the rest of the summer.
Each meet is a qualifier for the next, starting with the Area Championships on June 2. These events are not contested at the area meet, so an athlete automatically advances to the state meet: Multi- Events, Triple Jump, Discus, 200/400 Hurdles, Hammer, Pole Vault, Steeplechase, 4x800M relay, 3000, Racewalk, and Javelin.
Summer is a great opportunity for more individualized coaching, exposure to young athletes from all over the region and fun travel and bonding with your team and family.
